Built Financial Technologies makes an all-in-one finance product for small and medium businesses: invoicing, POS, accounting, payroll, budgets, and business credit, used across Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and other African markets. I was Lead Mobile and Web Engineer there from 2021 to 2024 and shipped the company's digital product suite.

The built.africa web platform is a Next.js application serving a multinational audience across 14+ countries, each with localised product information, pricing, and regulatory context. Performance and clarity were the design goals.

Built Accounting is the core React Native app. I rebuilt and scaled it from 700 installs to more than 50,000 on the App Store and Google Play, giving SME owners invoicing, expense tracking, payroll, and business insights on a phone.

Built Lite is a separate offline-first app I built from the ground up on WatermelonDB and SQLite for owners in low-connectivity environments. Sales, expenses, customers, and suppliers are recorded locally and synced when a connection is available, so nothing is lost when the network is. When a business outgrows it, it upgrades to the full app.

The stack across the suite is React Native with Expo, Next.js, TypeScript, WatermelonDB, and SQLite, with payments integrated through aggregator rails covering the Ghanaian mobile money networks and major banks.
