Givio Platform
As the solo full-stack developer, I built Givio from the ground up—a next-generation digital gifting platform that lets users gift asset-backed certificates tied to stocks and cryptocurrencies.
About This Project
Gift cards are everywhere, but they're stuck in the past—fixed amounts tied to specific merchants, often forgotten in wallets or expired. Givio reimagines the entire concept. Instead of giving someone a piece of plastic worth $50 today and $50 forever, what if you could gift them something that grows?
Givio is a digital gifting platform where users can purchase gift certificates backed by real assets—stocks and cryptocurrencies. When you gift someone through Givio, you're not just giving them money. You're giving them a stake in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tesla, or Apple. The recipient can hold onto it and watch it grow, or redeem it whenever they want at the current market value.
I built the entire platform as the solo developer for Edromart Technologies. That meant everything: the user-facing web app, the admin dashboard, payment processing, crypto wallet integration, stock market data feeds, and the security infrastructure required to handle financial assets responsibly.
The technical complexity was significant. The platform integrates with cryptocurrency exchanges for real-time pricing and secure wallet management, plus stock market APIs for NYSE and NASDAQ data. Fractional shares are supported, so someone can gift $25 worth of Amazon stock without buying a full share. All payments flow through PCI-compliant processing with support for cards, bank transfers, and digital wallets.
Security was non-negotiable given the financial nature of the product. I implemented KYC/AML compliance flows, multi-factor authentication, biometric security for mobile access, and cold storage for crypto assets. Regular security audits ensure the platform meets enterprise-grade standards.
The gifting experience itself is designed to feel personal despite being digital. Users can customize gift amounts, add personalized messages, schedule delivery for special occasions, and send via email or SMS. Recipients get a beautiful digital gift card that reveals the asset backing it.
Building Givio solo was challenging but rewarding. It's one thing to build a standard web app—it's another to build a fintech platform that handles real money, integrates with volatile markets, and needs to work flawlessly every time. The project pushed me to think deeply about security, reliability, and user trust in ways that simpler projects don't demand.
