TipMe Mobile App

Street performers add a lot of life to public spaces, but tipping them has gotten harder as fewer people carry cash. I was contracted by an Israeli company to build TipMe to make tipping simple again, just digitally.
TipMe is a mobile and web app that lets performers receive tips instantly and lets supporters give without friction. Performers sign up, start a session when they’re performing, and nearby people can tip them right from their phones. No cash, no awkward pauses.
Supporters can tip through the app or by scanning a QR code, even without installing anything. Performers get notified instantly when they receive a tip and can share a bit about their story through their profile.
Under the hood, I built TipMe with Node.js and MongoDB on the backend, React for the web, and React Native for mobile. It also uses proximity-based notifications and multiple payment options so the experience feels natural in real-world settings.
At its core, TipMe is just about removing friction between talent and appreciation. Performers get paid more easily, and supporters don’t have to think twice about giving.
