RBL Dating Platform
In early 2024, RBL Matchmaking LLC reached out to me to modernize their dating platform. The existing system was outdated and starting to hold them back.
I was brought in to rewrite the entire stack, migrating the backend from PHP/MySQL to Node.js and PostgreSQL, rebuilding the mobile app in modern React Native, and refreshing the admin panel in React. The trickiest part was moving over 170,000 users to the new system without downtime. That went smoothly.
Beyond the rewrite, I worked on core features like the matching logic and an image verification flow to reduce catfakes and build more trust on the platform.
The new version is faster, more stable, and easier to evolve. Since launch, the app has continued to grow, picking up thousands of new users on a much more solid foundation.
